What we don’t collect
- No accounts, so no names, emails, or passwords.
- No tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics.
- No log of which links you paste or which files you download.
What we temporarily hold
When a link is submitted, the video’s public metadata — title, thumbnail, and the list of available qualities — is cached for a few minutes so that a link many people are downloading doesn’t have to be re-processed for each one. That cache holds public information about the video and is not associated with the person who requested it. It expires automatically.
Our servers keep standard operational logs (request times, error rates) for a short period to diagnose faults. These are not used to build a profile of anyone.
Your downloads
Media is relayed from the source platform to your browser as it arrives. No copy is written to our storage, which means there is nothing for us to retain, analyse, or be compelled to disclose.
Article readership
We count how many people read each article so we know what to write more of. To count a returning reader only once per day without identifying them, we store a one-way hash of the reader’s IP address and browser, salted with a secret only our server holds. The address itself is never written down, and the hash cannot be reversed back into one.
Third parties
To fetch a video we necessarily contact the platform hosting it. That request comes from our servers, not from your browser, so the platform sees us rather than you. Their own privacy terms govern what they log about that request.
